Essex pie and mash

The decline of Essex pie and mash shops

Unfortunately, pie and mash shops are in decline, due to high London rents, as the vast majority of pie and mash shops originated in East London and South London. Fortunately, many are still thriving with some moving out to the home counties and beyond to continue their business. There are a variety of family run Essex pie and mash restaurants still serving this great British tradition.
